Welcome to Geophysics Lab at Chungnam National University (CNU)!
The CNU Geophysics Lab uses geophysical field methods and numerical simulations to address a wide range of scientific and practical questions. Our approaches utilize the suite of geophysical methods including magnetics, gravity, electromagnetics, resistivity, ground penetrating radar, and others. We investigate geological structures ranging in size from a few meters (e.g., high-resolution imaging of bedrock fractures) to several hundred kilometers (e.g., underwater volcanoes and fracture zones) and their physical properties.
충남대학교 지질환경과학과 지구물리연구실은 지구에서 관찰되는 다양한 자연현상을 연구하고 실생활의 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 지구물리 탐사법과 수치모델링을 활용합니다. 주로 활용되는 탐사기법에는 자력, 중력, 전자기, 전기비저항, 지하투과레이더 등이 있습니다. 우리 연구실은 암반 내 균열대와 같이 작은 규모의 지질 구조부터 해저화산 및 변환단층과 같이 큰 규모의 지구조체와 그 물리적 특성을 주요 연구대상으로 다룹니다.
